Tuesday 2 August

What we did today:

Today in Maths we explored lines of symmetry through the use of leaves and shapes. We identified the fact that something only has a line of symmetry when both halves are exactly the same. The children worked well during this activity.

In English we created our own narrative once again focussing on the three phases; orientation, complication and resolution. The students are encouraged to use adjectives (describing words) and verbs (doing words). We discussed the fact that adjectives create a far more interesting and exciting story through the use of detail.

We played phonic games and had a social skills lesson where the students played charades with emotions. We then discussed appropriateness of behaviour and how to respond to our peers in a variety of social situations that might otherwise be quite confronting. Conducting this lesson gives the students a range of strategies to use in a variety of situations.

Once again, we had lots of children away today.

2S Superstar of the Day Award: Elliot

Elliot has worked very hard all day and has not been disruptive or disrupted. He has contributed valuably to discussions and has completed all of his work in a timely manner. Well done Elliot.

Enjoy your evening.
