What we did today:
Well I can tell you what we didn't do today, and that is play outside!!! What crazy weather. The children were all excellent today considering the lack of wide open space.
In English we looked at descriptive writing relating to our lunchboxes and the content inside them. We described apples, poppers etc. The children are quite good at grasping this concept.
In Maths we have explored patterning such as counting in 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s and 10s. A great website for the children to play around on with patterning is: http://www.apples4theteacher.com/math/games/100-number-chart-one.html
The children also had Music - which they always enjoy.
In our wet lunch today we watched Yogi Bear. The kids loved it.
We need: We have run out of tissues in 2S (not surprised given that half of the team were wiped out two weeks ago!). Could you kindly bring a box of tissues into the classroom, as we go through these like there is no tomorrow. Many thanks.
2S Superstar of the Day Award: Baxter
Baxter has been trying really hard to put his hand up when he has something to say and he is always working consistently hard. Baxter's narrative was so exceptional that I read the initial event and setting to the class. This level of skill is mainly attributed to Baxter's love of reading which helps develop concepts relating to narratives in the English curriculum. Well done Baxter!
Enjoy your (wet and windy) afternoon,
Katie Watson
